Job Title:
Controls Engineer
Controls Engineer position responsible for performing a variety of mechanical and electrical engineering functions. The role supports the design and application of all pumping controls-related accessories, involving engineering duties such as calculations, CAD drafting, testing, and other technical functions.
Responsibilities- Perform calculations and CAD drafting for design purposes.
- Support the design and application of pumping controls accessories.
- Design control panels including layout and general arrangements.
- Work with analog sensors and provide sales support.
- Engage in continuous process improvement.
- Program PLCs for effective control systems.
- Document processes effectively.
- Conduct testing and other technical functions.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for plan changes.
- Understanding of UL 508 certification requirements.
- Experience in control panel design and analog sensors.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering discipline, or an associate degree in electrical engineering with 3 years’ experience, or 10 years’ experience as an Electrical Controls Designer.
- Three to five years of experience in a technical manufacturing or similar environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical component design and application.
Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with centrifugal pumps is a plus.
- Ability to use MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Productivity with minimal supervision.
- Quick learning capability and ability to advance skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
This role requires working onsite with 10%-15% travel to customers. The work involves using various software tools and participating in a collaborative team environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Old Saybrook, CT.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $/yr.
