Overview of the Team

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Warehouse Clerk to join our logistics/warehouse team in Old Saybrook, CT. The successful candidate will help ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods — maintaining accurate inventory records and helping keep the warehouse operating smoothly and safely.

Role Overview

Supporting warehouse activities including receiving material movement, packaging, shipping, and cycle counting. Must interface regularly with business computer system and shipping company websites to process work.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Receive, unload and inspect incoming shipments: check quantities, match with purchase orders or delivery documentation, identify and report damages or discrepancies.
  • Store and organize products in designated warehouse locations; ensure items are stored safely and can be easily retrieved.
  • Pick, pack and prepare outgoing shipments/orders for dispatch: ensure correct items, proper packaging, accurate labelling and timely shipment.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts or cycle counts; reconcile physical counts with system records; record and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update Oracle warehouse/inventory systems (e.g., enter items received/issued, update locations, track movements).
  • Keep the warehouse clean, orderly and safe: adhere to safety protocols, ensure aisles are clear, palletized goods are stacked correctly, and equipment is used properly.
  • Operate warehouse equipment as needed (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck), if trained/qualified.
  • Collaborate with other departments (shipping/receiving, purchasing, inventory control) to ensure smooth workflow and accurate documentation.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift, carry and move moderate to heavy loads (often up to ~65 lbs. depending on product)
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., entering data, using spreadsheets/inventory systems)
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Forklift certification and experience (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or barcode scanning systems.
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt to changing tasks or priorities.

  • The role is physically active: standing, walking, lifting/carrying goods, bending, reaching.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols (PPE usage, safe equipment operation, housekeeping standards).
