Lead Medical Assistant – Overview
Are you a seasoned Medical Assistant with a passion for leadership and a drive to make a difference? At Helen Hunt Health Center, we’re looking for a Lead Medical Assistant to help guide our care teams and elevate the patient experience. In this key role, you’ll partner with the Clinical Operations Supervisor and leadership team to support daily clinic operations, mentor fellow MAs, and lead by example.

- Lead with compassion and purpose – Support the daily work of the MA team by modeling positive, patient‑centered care and helping create a welcoming, respectful environment for both patients and staff.
- Help grow a strong, confident team – Partner with the Clinical Operations Supervisor to hire, train, mentor, and coach Medical Assistants. Support ongoing skill‑building and quality conversations so the team can do its best work.
- Strengthen workflows and quality – Work closely with practice leadership to improve processes, introduce best practices, and support continuous quality efforts that keep care safe, efficient, and centered on the patient.
- Champion a great patient experience – Connect with patients in ways that help them feel heard, informed, and supported throughout their visit. Promote clear communication and a smooth flow of care.
- Support where it matters most – Step in as a Medical Assistant when needed, following the MA Job Description and Competency Checklist. Stay flexible and ready to help meet the needs of the clinic and care team.
- A college degree is preferred; high school diploma required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a primary healthcare or related professional setting as a Medical Assistant.
- Demonstrated aptitude for supervision and/or leadership roles; relevant experience in a position with some leadership responsibility at PCHC may be substituted for previous supervisory experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant through the AAMA preferred.
- Up‑to‑date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within two weeks if not current at hire.
