We are seeking a skilled and fully qualified Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance. This Vehicle Technician role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment and is committed to providing excellent service.
Vehicle TechnicianKey Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and fault-finding on vehicles using both manual techniques and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Replace or repair vehicle components including brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical parts.
- Ensure vehicles meet safety and emission standards before delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Provide clear and professional advice to colleagues and customers regarding vehicle condition and necessary repairs.
- Keep up to date with industry developments, tools, and technology.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Support junior technicians through guidance and training where required.
- Recognized qualification in automotive or vehicle technology (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a fully qualified Vehicle Technician in a workshop or dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and computer-based systems.
- Valid driver's license with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and customers.
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
