SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Prospero Teaching are actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Oldham. This pivotal role involves providing specialised 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically those experiencing challenging behaviour, ADHD, and autism. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

December 2025 - Pay: £476.45 - £550.00 per week
- Individual Support:
Deliver personalised support to children with SEN, ensuring they are engaged and making progress in their learning. This includes adapting activities to suit individual needs and promoting a positive learning experience. - Behaviour Management:
Employ effective behaviour management strategies to help children navigate their emotions and interactions, fostering a calm and supportive atmosphere. - Classroom
Collaboration:
Work closely with the classroom teacher to modify lesson plans and learning materials, ensuring that all children can participate fully in classroom activities. - Outdoor Supervision:
Provide supervision and support during outdoor activities and breaks, ensuring the safety and inclusion of children in all settings. - Progress Monitoring:
Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour, communicating regularly with the classroom teacher and SENCO to discuss any concerns or achievements.
- Qualifications:
A Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent is preferred. - Experience:
Proven experience working in a UK school setting or with children of a similar age group, particularly those with SEN. - Training:
Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable; however, some training will be provided.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Provide two professional references related to childcare.
