A welcoming, inclusive and well-organised Primary School in Oldham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their supportive team. This is a rewarding full-time role offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ progress across the school.
The Role
This HLTA position offers a balanced and structured week, providing experience across different year groups and key areas of school life:
Class-based support across the school covering PPA or staff sickness, so, someone who is able to cover throughout the school would be ideal.
2 days per week focused on:
* Targeted tutoring and intervention programmes
* General classroom cover where required
* Supporting pupil progress and attainment across the school
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering high-quality interventions and tutoring sessions
* Providing effective whole-class cover
* Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
* Working collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders to track progress and impact
* Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to support confidence and engagement
Who This Role Is Ideal For
* Qualified HLTAs or very experienced Teaching Assistants ready and able to take the next step
* ECTs seeking valuable classroom experience without full class responsibility
* Practitioners confident working across multiple year groups
* Individuals passionate about inclusion, pupil progress and Pupil Premium support
Requirements
* HLTA status or relevant higher-level classroom experience
* Experience delivering interventions, tutoring or classroom cover
* Strong communication skills and confident behaviour management
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
