Overview
Behaviour Mentor – Oldham. Salary: £100-£125.
Responsibilities- Work individually or in small groups with students to develop coping strategies, self-awareness and emotional regulation.
- Create and implement tailored behaviour plans and risk assessments to address specific behavioural issues and track progress.
- Liaise with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to ensure consistent support and solution‑focused approach.
- Provide guidance, mentorship and emotional support to designated students, promoting resilience, self-esteem and independence.
- Keep detailed records of student’s progress, interventions and communications and report outcomes to relevant staff.
- Encourage positive social interactions, inclusion and acceptance of all students within school environments.
- Typically requires GCSEs or equivalent and an enhanced DBS check; a university degree is not mandatory.
- Essential skills include empathy, patience, trustworthiness, strong communication, and active listening.
- Additional training or diplomas in Behaviour Support can enhance employability.
- Experience working with students with SEMH/SEN needs.
