Smile Education is recruiting a confident and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisor to support a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Oldham
. This long-term, full-time role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work
.

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will gain hands-on classroom experience, working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supervising lessons during teacher absence and supporting pupils to stay engaged and on task. This role is an excellent stepping stone into teacher training, PGCE routes, or school-based roles
.

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson plans
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
• Support pupils with their learning and encourage positive engagement
• Maintain a calm, safe, and productive classroom environment
• Take accurate registers and report any concerns to teaching staff
• Gain experience across a range of subjects and year groups
• Support the wider school team when required

• A degree in any subject (essential)
• A genuine interest in working with young people and education
• Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
• The ability to manage behaviour and build positive relationships
• A professional, flexible, and proactive attitude
• An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
