The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Assistant Head of Site Curriculum and Assessment New Bridge College, Oldham Leadership Pay Range

  • L3L7 Commencing as soon as possible A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the senior leadership team of a thriving SEND post-16 College at a pivotal moment in its development.

Our Trustees are seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Head Curriculum and Assessment who is ready to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of the students who attend New Bridge College.

We are looking for a visionary, energetic and highly motivated leader, someone who combines creativity with strategic thinking, and who is driven by a deep commitment to educational excellence and embodies our inclusive values.

In addition, we are looking for someone who has a proven record of curriculum impact, and instinctively takes collective responsibility for the success of every student and every colleague.

Someone who never walks past an opportunity to improve, who uses their influence courageously, and who leads with integrity, compassion and ambition.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience of working with young people with a range of SEND ranging from ASD, ADHD, MLD, OCD and SEMH. Due to the complex nature of our students, high levels of emotional and physical resilience are needed in supporting our young people to achieve and succeed.

The successful candidate will:

Have experience of working with young people to overcome barriers to their personal, social or learning development.

Possess a genuine appreciation of the potential barriers to a student’s learning, and sensitivity towards their circumstances and life experiences.

Have high expectations of young people, and a commitment to raising standards of attainment to ensure that they can achieve their full educational potential.

Demonstrate a strong track record of curriculum leadership and measurable impact.

Be an inspirational classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching and learning.

Bring expertise in assessment, monitoring, tracking and intervention.

Inspire colleagues through innovative practice and a commitment to professional growth.

Champion a culture of high ambition, preparing students to become confident, compassionate and resilient.

Contribute to the creation and implementation of strategic plans which identify priorities and targets for ensuring that students achieve high standards and make excellent progress towards their destinations and securing College development.

Support all staff in achieving the priorities and targets the College sets and monitor the progress towards meeting them.

Support the evaluation of the effectiveness of related developments and analyse their impact on student performance and progress.

Collect and use a rich set of data to understand the strengths and areas for development of the College.

Combine the outcomes of regular self-review/assessment and evaluations to enhance and further develop the College.

You must be confident, approachable and have the skills to work collaboratively, build effective teams and also to be a present and visible leader who leads by example.

Although based initially at the New Bridge College, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.
