We are currently seeking a passionate Autism Specialist Teacher to join a dedicated SEN provision in Oldham, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and communication needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist autism unit that focuses on providing a structured, supportive, and nurturing learning environment where pupils can build confidence, develop independence, and achieve meaningful progress.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver highly personalised and differentiated lessons suited to the needs of pupils with ASC
- Support pupils with communication, language, and sensory needs
- Use structured teaching approaches and evidence-based strategies to support engagement
- Promote the development of communication skills, independence, and social interaction
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN professionals, and therapists
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support pupil development
- Maintain a predictable, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Has experience working with pupils with Autism or additional learning needs (desirable)
- Demonstrates strong skills in differentiation and personalised teaching
- Is patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is passionate about helping pupils with SEN reach their full potential
- Main Pay Scale (MPS) paid from day one
- Additional SEN allowance
