We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Intervention HLTA to join our dedicated secondary school team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and removing barriers to learning.

You will lead and deliver targeted therapeutic interventions, working closely with vulnerable students to support emotional regulation, wellbeing, and engagement with education. This role combines academic support with a strong pastoral and therapeutic focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and implement EHCPs, behaviour support plans, and intervention strategies
  • Provide in-class support where needed to ensure students can access learning
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and reports
  • Model positive behaviour and support students in managing challenging situations
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their personal development
What We Are Looking For
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches (e.g., restorative practice, attachment-aware approaches)
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lead interventions independently and use initiative
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
What We Offer
  • A supportive and inclusive school environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and training
  • A meaningful role where you can make a real difference in students' lives
  • Access to staff wellbeing support
