Secondary School Drama Teacher – September Start

An exciting opportunity is available for a creative and passionate Drama Teacher to join a supportive and well‑established secondary school in the Oldham area from September 2026. This full‑time role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring students through the performing arts and delivering engaging, high‑quality drama lessons.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in nurturing students’ confidence, creativity and self‑expression. You will be responsible for delivering a dynamic drama curriculum, supporting school productions and encouraging participation in performances and extracurricular activities.

You will join a vibrant and collaborative department that values creativity, inclusivity and high expectations for all learners.

Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full‑time
Salary: Matched to your level on the Teacher Pay Scale (MPS/UPS)

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Encourage creativity, confidence and performance skills across all key stages
  • Organise and contribute to school productions, performances and extracurricular activities
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively
  • Maintain a positive and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole‑school initiatives
  • Uphold safeguarding, behaviour and school policies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree or specialism in Drama, Performing Arts or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Drama at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the performing arts
  • Effective classroom management and organisational skills
  • A commitment to student development and high educational standards
