We are seeking a committed Programme Tutor - Hairdressing & Barbering to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities.

This role is 0.8 FTE.

In this role you will:

• Deliver engaging, practical and theory-based lessons in hairdressing and barbering, inspiring learners to develop high-quality technical skills.
• Plan, assess and monitor learner progress, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
• Prepare learners for employment by embedding professional standards, client care, health and safety, and commercial salon practices into teaching.
• Maintain industry-standard salon environments, equipment and resources to ensure a safe and professional learning experience.
• Build strong relationships with employers and industry partners to enhance learner experiences, work placements and progression opportunities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement activities, open events and student recruitment to promote the Hairdressing and Barbering provision.
• Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Qualifications:
  
  Level 3 (or above) qualification in Hairdressing and/or Barbering, with GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Experience:
  
  At least five years' recent industry experience within hairdressing and/or barbering.
• Teaching:
  Experience of delivering practical training, coaching or teaching, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
• Industry Knowledge:
  Up-to-date knowledge of current hairdressing and barbering techniques, trends, products and health & safety requirements.
• Skills:
  
  Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to assess learner progress, adapt teaching to meet individual needs, and use digital learning systems effectively.
