The School & Role

Vision for Education is hiring a Teaching Assistants in Oldham to support pupils in primary schools starting September. This is a long-term opportunity with additional daily supply work available.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons while helping pupils stay focused, confident, and involved in classroom activities. You'll work with individual learners and small groups, reinforce lesson content, and help maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and other support professionals, you will play an important role in encouraging participation, building confidence, and helping pupils make progress throughout the school day.

This role would suit a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or Education Support Worker.

Requirements

To apply for this Teaching Assistant job, you should have:

  • Experience supporting pupils in a primary school, classroom, or educational environment, or a Level 1, Level 2 / Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • An interest in supporting children's learning, wellbeing, and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils and school staff.
  • Confidence assisting with small-group learning and targeted classroom support, including varied learning needs.
  • A reliable, proactive attitude and the ability to contribute positively within a school team.
