Sports Coaches & Sport Graduates - SEN Support Roles

Hours:

Full-time (term-time only)

Pay:
From £100 per day

Are you a sports coach or sport science graduate with a passion for helping others?

Educato Limited is seeking energetic, empathetic individuals to join our partner schools as SEN Teaching Assistants - no prior classroom experience required.

Whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced coach ready for a new challenge, this is an incredible opportunity to transfer your skills into a rewarding education role, supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Why Sports Coaches Thrive in This Role:
  • Teamwork, motivation & structure:
Your coaching experience gives you the ability to support students' learning, behaviour, and confidence.
  • Active, movement-based learning:
Many children with SEN respond brilliantly to kinaesthetic and physical approaches.
  • Resilience & relationship-building:
You already know how to guide, encourage, and inspire, even on the toughest days.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Supporting children with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language, and sensory processing challenges.
  • Assisting students 1:1 or in small groups to access learning.
  • Using movement, games, and structured routines to help children regulate emotions and stay focused.
  • Working collaboratively with Teachers, SENCOs, and Therapists as part of a supportive team.
  • Encouraging confidence, social interaction, and emotional development.
What We're Looking For:
  • A sport science graduate or experienced sports coach passionate about working with children.
  • Energetic, patient, and committed to making a difference.
  • Open to supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to provide a minimum of 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
Why Work with Educato?
  • Consistent weekday hours (8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Ongoing, long-term position within a supportive school environment
  • Continuous support from a friendly and professional education agency

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS, satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.

Educato Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Educato Limited acts as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
