The purpose of this role is to review, validate, standardise, and construct Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and work instructions to ensure they are accurate, consistent, and production-ready prior to migration into the new ERP. This role is critical to ensuring a smooth ERP go‑live and to improving manufacturing efficiency, data integrity, and cross‑functional alignment.
Key Responsibilities- Review existing BOMs, sub‑assemblies, and part structures for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability
- Create and restructure production‑ready BOMs aligned to standard assembly processes
- Ensure correct component sequencing, quantities, revisions, and effectivity controls
- Rationalise part numbers and eliminate duplication where appropriate
- Review and improve existing work instructions to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability on the shop floor
- Develop standardised assembly and test routings aligned to best manufacturing practice
- Ensure instructions reflect actual build processes, tooling, fixtures, and quality checkpoints
- Work with the ERP implementation team to validate data structures, naming conventions, and configuration logic
- Support data cleansing, UAT testing, and post‑migration validation
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for manufacturing data within the ERP project
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and ERP consultants
- Ensure all BOMs and instructions align with quality, regulatory, and traceability requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve standardisation, efficiency, and repeatability in manufacturing processes
- Support the establishment of best practice for ongoing BOM ownership post‑ERP go‑live
- Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or BOM Engineer role
- Strong hands‑on experience creating and maintaining complex multi‑level BOMs
- Experience preparing manufacturing data for ERP/MRP systems (Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong understanding of assembly processes, routings, and shop‑floor operations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
In return for the above you will be offered a highly competitive salary, excellent work environment and the opportunity to make a significant impact and success of this exciting project.
