As a Health Care Support Worker, you will assist the healthcare practitioner to carry out routine health related activities to complete personal care and activities of daily living ensuring patient lead focused care. You will provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
Main duties of the job- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, supporting holistic care in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
- Support personal development and contribute to service improvement.
- Promote health, safety, and security for self and others.
- Maintain quality and patient safety through responsible actions.
- Carry out routine assessments, adapt care within set parameters, and report progress to senior staff.
- Assist in delivering care plans to support patients' health and well-being.
- Work flexibly, including unsociable hours, to meet service needs.
- Perform delegated tasks accurately and responsibly.
- Support patients with personal care, including bathing, toileting, eating, and drinking.
- Assist with patient mobility using appropriate equipment.
- Record and share accurate information promptly with the team.
- Identify and report changes in patients' conditions.
- Obtain consent before providing care and respect patients' privacy, dignity, and beliefs.
- Prepare and support patients during care activities.
- Alert the team to any changes in health or potential risks.

Person Specification Qualifications- Care Certificate either upon appointment or within 12 weeks of commencement
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
- NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship
- Experience of working with members of the public or a desire to work in the Health Service
- Understanding of routine work procedures gained through a short induction period and on the job training
- Experience of working within a health or social care environment
- Experience of working within a team
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
