Overview

Medical Device Service Assistant — The Medical Device Governance Team is looking to recruit a Band 3 Administration Assistant with a positive attitude and is a motivated team player to join our small friendly department. A full UK driving licence is required for this role. The closing date is 19 February 2026.

A full-time candidate development option is available: development of a suitable individual would be considered, working as a band 2 during a period of academic or experiential learning with guaranteed progression to a band 3 on successful completion of the agreed pathway.

The successful candidate will be required to visit clinical areas, establish relationships with the staff and assist and support them in achieving medical device training compliance as well as helping with retrieving and reporting faulty devices with the support of the team.

Main duties of the job
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a database of training records for clinical teams, extracting data, producing reports and monitoring targets.
  • The role is a combination of office-based duties and visits to clinical areas to deliver training compliance reports.
  • You will be organising training events alongside the clinical training team, including room booking, provision of audio-visual aids, taking attendance bookings, monitoring attendance and escalating information to managers as required.
  • You will need to be a car driver as the role requires work on all sites as well as with the community teams.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Level 2 qualifications in numeracy and literacy
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in administration or care
  • ECDL or evidence of ability to use databases, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge, skills and Experience
  • Evidence of building positive relationships and partnerships with clients
  • Able to use Microsoft Windows based programs
  • Able to concentrate when subject to unpredictable working patterns
  • Evidence of good organisational skills
  • Able to deal with enquiries or take clear and full messages when callers need to be referred.
  • Able to provide positivism and enthusiasm in support of the team
  • Able to manage and prioritise own work load to meet deadlines
  • Able to exercise own initiative when dealing with issues
Experience
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative capacity
  • Previous experience of working in a team
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of administration practices
