The post holder will provide care coordination to service users within the Early Intervention Team, ensuring that all individuals receive high-quality information, responsive support, and compassionate listening. A key focus of the role is to strengthen engagement with the South Asian community, supporting improved access, understanding, and culturally informed care.

To provide care coordination and interventions to a caseload of individuals identified as being at risk of developing a psychotic illness or experiencing its early stages

• To support the Oldham Early Intervention Team to increase engagement with families from South Asian backgrounds, ensuring their needs are understood and appropriately addressed.
• Build strong relationships with South Asian communities, helping to reduce barriers to access and ensuring culturally sensitive support.
• Promote service awareness and help shape the team’s approach to inclusive, community-focused mental health support.
• Scope out local groups and peer support for families, particularly those from South Asian backgrounds.
• Develop platforms to ensure that we hear the voices of families from ethnic minority backgrounds when developing new services, information and resources.
• Liaising and building links with faith and other community groups, organisations and potential partners.
• Support the promotion of Family support, with a particular focus on providing the service to families from different cultural backgrounds.
• Contribute to the development of our Friends and Family group and Family Interventions offer to ensure that our services are accessible for minority ethnic families.
• Provide expertise to develop resources, projects and programmes to support families from minority ethnic backgrounds.
