1. Job Output:
Provision and co‑ordination of technical support services to external and internal customers in the UK and Irish markets to promote and strengthen the brands and company image of Armacell. Development of the tools and systems needed to ensure the highest level of technical support is offered. Implementing European initiatives as appropriate to the UK and Irish market.
2. Key Processes (Ownership/Participation):
- Answering technical customer queries and supporting Sales Managers with technical issues and information.
- Supervising the Technical Help‑Line and ensuring high levels of service. Part of the team providing this service.
- Working with online calculation and technical support tools to make access to technical support and advice easier for internal Business Managers and Customer Services staff.
- Developing online calculation tools such as Master Specification to allow external customers easy access to technical information.
- Under the guidance of the Technical Manager, analysing and evaluating competitor environment.
- Producing technical reports to promote technical positioning of products and their features and benefits.
- Assisting with providing market intelligence and analysis for the UK.
- Developing technical literature/label requirements/technical presentations in conjunction with local marketing team.
- In conjunction with the local marketing and Technical Manager, adapting technical articles to promote Armacell products and gain business.
- Adapting EU‑project results to promote business in the UK and Ireland where appropriate.
3. Organisational Relationships:
- Reports to UK Technical Manager
- Receives functional guidance from Manager Technical Market Development, Europe
- Member of UK Technical Team.
4. Key Customers and Suppliers (External):
- Armacell UK and Irish Customers
- UK and Irish industry technical bodies
- Key specifiers/contractors such as mechanical engineers
Internal:
- UK Business Managers
- UK Customer Services Team
- UK Marketing and Communications team
Team Involvement:
- UK Sales Team
5. Measurement of Effectiveness:
- Technical Help‑Line and online systems and tools usage
- Technical support activities linked to UK Business development plans as identified.
- Achievement of project management milestones. Successful completion of projects.
- Overall business performance in targeted areas.
6. Value Added
Activities:
- Technical support for targeted areas giving increased business. This will come through the development of additional technical services, documentation, supporting information, technical tools
- Ensures fast, reliable delivery of a comprehensive technical support service
- Enhance service proposition promotes and strengthens the Armacell brands and company image and perception in the marketplace.
- Supports new business opportunities by providing practical, technical solutions in easy to understand language
