The Opportunity

Lodestone Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established heavy engineering business based in Oldham. Due to continued growth and significant investment in new machinery, they are looking to recruit a skilled CNC Miller or CNC Horizontal Borer Machinist.

The company operates across highly regulated sectors including Oil & Gas, Defence, and Nuclear, offering long-term stability and technically challenging work.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Apprentice trained or time-served background in CNC machining

Strong experience in CNC Milling or Horizontal Boring

Ability to programme and edit using Heidenhain controls

Experience machining medium to large/heavy components

Background in heavy engineering sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence or similar)

Experience working on one-off components within a subcontract machine shop

Ideally, experience operating multi-axis machines (up to 5-axis)

What’s On

Offer:

Salary:
Up to £45,000

Hours:

37.5-hour week

Shifts:

Mornings, afternoons, and nights (

PLEASE NOTE:

There may be options for 2 shift pattern OR nights for the right candidate)

Overtime:
Regular overtime available paid at time and a half

Pension:
Excellent scheme – 10% employer / 5% employee contribution

Permanent position – direct employment with the company

The site is conveniently located in Oldham with excellent access to the M62.
