Day-to-day of the role:
Act as an independent advocate for victims of domestic violence and abuse, particularly those who require safe temporary accommodation. Lead the provision of high-quality bespoke interventions for high and medium risk victims, utilising appropriate assessment tools and the DASH risk assessment to determine needs and create safety plans. Provide support in safe accommodation and assistance to eligible households under the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Promote and work towards the aims and objectives of the Domestic Violence and Abuse Strategy. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA). Strong understanding of the needs and safety planning for victims of domestic violence and abuse. Proficient in using DASH risk assessment and other relevant assessment tools. Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Ability to work independently and advocate effectively on behalf of clients. Benefits:
