Education, Early Years and Skills Educational and Child Assistant Educational Psychologist

Contract:

Fixed Term (12 months) Salary: £38,607 - £41,456 per annum(Soulbury Assistant Educational Psychologist Scale, points 2-4)

Working within Oldham’s Educational and Child Psychology to support the service’s statutory and preventative work including consultation, assessment, intervention, training and research. Work will take place within a variety of educational settings with different professional partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To support colleagues in the completion of a full range of service tasks, including undertaking.
  • Support EPs in planning/delivering/evaluation of training
  • Contribute to assessment of individual children and young people, with a strong emphasis on the assessment of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years).
  • General administrative support to a team of EPs
  • To keep accurate, up to date records of all contacts and work relating to children, young people and their families in accordance with service protocols and provide written feedback as required.
Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • At least 2:1 honours degree in Psychology (or recognised equivalent) and the Graduate Basis for Registration or Chartership (G / GBC) as a psychologist as required by the British Psychological Society.
  • To hold a valid driving licence / enhanced DBS
  • Significant post-qualifying experience of working directly with children and parents, for example, experience of teaching, youth work, mentoring or mental health support
  • Experience of working with children in the early the years is desirable.
