Responsibilities include:

Using a microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually aligning parts before soldering, and performing post re-flow inspection and touch-up.

Identifying and touching up poor wetted solder joints, solder voids, shorts, bridges, misaligned parts, tombstoned or billboarded components, and other solder defects during SMT operations.

Using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to identify solder defects and understanding false vs. real defect calls.

Reading instructions and identifying standard SMT components.

Working in a fast-paced environment with possible overtime.

Sitting for long periods and focusing on tedious tasks.

Using rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools (ERSA or other OEM).

Experience with running, soldering, and tacking jumper wires on re-designed boards is a plus.

Holding active or expired IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 Certifications is required.
