Product Development Engineer – Heavy Duty

Your ContributionDevelop and maintain the product line, manage publication data, and support creation of technical literature. Strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket – especially the heavy‑duty segment.
- Perform research of OE and aftermarket competitors’ catalogs and components for information regarding new parts additions and upgrades of existing parts.
- Responsible for all facets of the product life cycle, including outlining product detail, sourcing, new product introductions, supressions, consolidations, re‑labels, and recalls; analyze new products and make recommendations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of application and product data in all publications.
- Conduct competitor analysis, maintaining competitor interchange data and market‑price analysis.
- Coordinate development of all new product programs.
- Establish product and material specifications.
- Ensure product quality and content of sets.
- Maintain liaison with MAHLE Aftermarket Service Engineering, MAHLE Aftermarket Product Management – Germany, MAHLE OE engineering at international manufacturing locations and vendor engineering departments.
- Assist field sales personnel with customer needs and requirements, and respond to product inquiries.
- Help establish pricing for new products/parts.
- Create mutually beneficial relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Technology, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Automotive or Aftermarket, including 5 years in Product Management in the Heavy Duty industry.
- Working knowledge of internal combustion engines, engine sealing product design and materials, engine components in general, sourcing, and corrective action requests.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- International experience preferred.
