Position: Quality Technician (Swing Shift)

Quality Technician

The Quality Technician performs final and in-process inspections and audits to ensure product builds meet specifications and requirements. They coordinate product returns to suppliers for corrective actions and verify that customer notes and expectations are met. The technician ensures compliance with ISO and other quality system standards.

This role involves acquiring basic knowledge of job content, practices, and procedures, with ongoing learning to fully perform job responsibilities. Tasks are of minimal complexity and performed under supervision with detailed instructions. The impact of decisions is typically contained within the assigned work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct audits: Conducts random, scheduled, and unscheduled audits to verify conformance to customer specifications, technical drawings, manufacturer specifications, assembly manuals, and company procedures. (20%)

Root cause analysis: Performs root cause analyses by inspecting material returns, reviewing documentation, interviewing employees, and assessing conformance to standards to identify defects or process issues. (20%)

Data management: Maintains logs on data quality, returned materials, supplier information, nonconformance reports, errors, and recommendations for trend analysis. (20%)

Product return documentation: Prepares documentation for product returns to suppliers for failure analysis and monitors corrective actions. (20%)

ISO documentation: Assists in developing and maintaining ISO system documentation, including work instructions and departmental policies. (20%)
