The welder fitter will lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble handrails using MIG and TIG welding principles.

Primarily Flux Core

Fitting

Experience:

5 years in structural steel/fab shop environments.

Mechanical Aptitude required.

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience with the layout and fitting of handrails.
  • Ability to layout the pitch of a handrail.
  • Skill in coping and fish-mouthing pipe ends for proper fit-up.
  • 3 years of TIG welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel.
  • 3 years of MIG welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of how to read a WPS sheet.
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and tow motors to move materials.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in a job shop environment.
  • Ability to pass a 3G weld test.
