CS&A Responsible Engineer (RE) ð️The RE holds full technical accountability for Civils, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) engineering within their area, ensuring all work is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the project lifecycle ð.Working to R2A2 (ED21), you’ll provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance, while retaining responsibility for key engineering decisions—even when delegated ð·‍️.

Key Responsibilities &

Experience:

Strong CS&A background in regulated, safety-critical environments ️Proven technical accountability & decision-making experience Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and safety requirements ðEstablish governance, assurance & verification processes ð§Lead multi-disciplinary teams & resolve complex technical issues ðInterface with project teams, regulators & assurance bodies ðPromote a strong safety, quality & compliance culture ð¡️Desirable

Experience:

Planning, site master planning & council engagement ðº️Contaminated land, utilities & ground investigations ðSeismic & heavy industrial/plant room design ðNuclear or high-hazard environments ️Safety case development & regulatory engagement ðFull lifecycle delivery: concept commissioning ðManaging deviations, non-conformances & improvements ðRequirements:

Familiar with engineering governance & gated processes ️SQEP aligned with SR0698 & ED21 standards ðQualifications Essential Qualifications ðDegree (or equivalent) in CS&A or related engineering discipline

Extensive CS&A experience suitable for a Responsible Engineer role ð️Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognised institution ð‍ð§Able to meet security clearance & site access requirements ðDesirable Qualifications Fellowship or senior membership of a professional institution ðTraining in nuclear safety, functional safety, or systems engineering ️Postgraduate qualification in engineering or management ðAdditional Information Whilst we encourage applications from all nationalities, Assystem within the UK are subject to security and export control restrictions due to the nature of work to be undertaken.
