Liverpool We are seeking an experienced and driven Estimator to join a leading main contractor based in Warrington. This is a key leadership role within the pre-construction team, responsible for delivering high-quality cost estimates across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects including rail infrastructure, highways, and port developments.

You will play a pivotal role in securing major projects, supporting strategic bids, and mentoring a growing estimating team.

Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex civil engineering projects.

Oversee and coordinate the full tendering process from initial enquiry through to submission

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive pricing

Engage with supply chain partners to obtain competitive quotations and build strong relationships

Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders

Collaborate closely with planning, commercial, and operational teams

Present and review estimates with senior leadership and stakeholders

Support business development activities and contribute to winning work strategies

Mentor and develop junior estimators within the team

Requirements

Proven experience in a senior or principal estimating role within a main contractor environment

Strong background in civil engineering, ideally across rail, highways, or port projects

Excellent knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and pricing structures

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools

Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Salary is up to 83,000 + Pkg.
