Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager
Department: Operations, Parkside
Reports To: Bank Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Type of Position: Full-Time
Job Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager works directly with the Branch Manager to oversee all aspects of Branch operations. Provide leadership and guidance for employees by providing excellent customer service with the highest degree of accuracy and professionalism. The position will assist in ensuring the branch is achieving the most profitable deposit and loan relationships and that it is performing in an operationally compliant and regulatory sound manner.
The assistant branch manager performs any task in the absence of the bank manager and their supporting staff. The position will work with management to prepare for contingencies and assume critical responsibilities when needed. The position will also assume a variety of duties to better serve our customers by understanding and implementing our core values. The position requires a person that is individually driven, team-oriented, and thrives on delivering highly personalized customer service.
Assistant Branch Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the Branch in the absence of Branch Manager.
- Open/Close branch as needed.
- Open new accounts and perform account changes/updates.
- Handle/Follow up on customer questions and support.
- Oversee teller line and drive-up area to ensure all transactions are done accurately.
- Assist in hiring, training, and coaching employees of the branch.
- Educate associates, customers, and surrounding community about best practices to achieve and maintain financial wellness in addition to emerging bank technology and digital solutions such as mobile, online and at-large ATM offerings.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge on policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure every employee within the Bank represents the vision and mission of Trust Bank while setting the tone for the culture within the location.
- Coach less experienced staff on a regular basis.
- Oversee staff scheduling.
- Help support lenders at the branch by assisting in collecting documents to assist the loan process.
- Attend meetings as needed/required.
- Participate in community events supporting the bank’s visibility and outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Strong frontline experience in a bank branch.
- Effective problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Excellent probing and listening skills to uncover customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, assertive, perform well in a customer services environment and interact with customer and team members in a professional and personable manner, and perform well in potentially stressful situations requiring tact, diplomacy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and a strong acumen for consumer financial information.
- Strong time management and follow-up skills.
- Presents oneself in a professional manner.
Working Conditions and Essential Functions
This is a full-time exempt position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours may vary and include Saturdays. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and may require standing, walking, using hands and tools, reaching, talking, listening, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus. Travel is limited.

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $44,000 – $55,000 annually. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
