Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Join the Intensive Care Unit at Med Star Montgomery Medical Center, a 120‑bed full‑service ANCC Magnet‑recognized facility located in Olney, Maryland. The 12‑bed ICU admits a wide array of patient diagnoses ranging from neuro, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, and vascular ailments, to post‑operative procedures. As part of an American Heart Association Gold‑Plus Certified Primary Stroke Center, the ICU also manages patients recovering from acute strokes including those who have received thrombolytic therapy.
Nurses work 12‑hour day or night shifts (non‑rotating) and participate in self‑scheduling. Average patient‑to‑nurse assignments are 2:1 with a dedicated charge nurse on each shift.
Positions Available: Full‑time, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.
Salary Range: USD $36.00 – $54.97 per hour.
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
- Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
- Deliver interventions directly or coordinate through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Prior ICU experience required.
- Active MD RN License or active compact state RN license and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
