Overview
We are excited to recruit for a newly created role as part of our transformation journey in trading. The role reports to the Head of Quantitative Model Development and plays an important part in the development of our analytics framework. This is a senior opportunity for someone to apply experience and best practices, with openness to grow with us. The job location is flexible between Olten and Lausanne, Switzerland.
Relocation support will be provided.
- Develop and implement high-performance algorithms for multi-market co-optimization (e.g., day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services) and bidding strategies of batteries.
- Model battery degradation, efficiency losses, and operational constraints.
- Integrate forecasting inputs (price, load, renewable generation) into decision frameworks.
- Back-test and validate models using historical market and operational data.
- Improve scalability and runtime performance of optimization pipelines.
- Support and maintenance of existing tools and processes.
- Support pricing team for valuation of M&A and Tolling deals across different European markets.
- Collaborate with traders and originators to translate market insights and regulations into quantitative strategies.
- University degree, preferably PhD, in Electrical Engineering, mathematics, physics or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in power/gas markets and knowledge of physical assets.
- Experience with (stochastic) optimization methods.
- Financial theory knowledge (financial mathematics, term structure models, stochastic processes) is a plus.
- Good communication skills, ability to influence and work with the front office and other functions across the business.
- Fluent English, additional languages (German and/or French) is a plus.
- Availability to work onsite in Lausanne or Olten.
