Position OverviewThe Electrical Supervisor works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished product and supports daily production activities. This is a supervisory position that includes the daily supervision of plant electricians, as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, and equipment installation.
Duties And Responsibilities- Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in an industrial plant setting
- Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and electrical principles
- Diagnoses causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions and performs preventative and corrective actions
- Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
- Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
- Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
- Supports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline with two or more related co-op or internship work assignments in a manufacturing setting (alternative to 5–7 years of work experience)
- Three to five years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- At least two years of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, and DC drives
- Installation, setup and programming of PLCs
- Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD software
- Process control systems setup and program applications (Honeywell)
- Instrumentation and calibration knowledge
- Facility power distribution
- Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling)
- Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems
- Availability to work various shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Approximately 5% overnight travel
Preferred Requirements
- Packaging industry experience
- Electrical Journeyman’s certification
- Green or black belt Six Sigma certification
- Ability to work independently or with a team

- Creative problem solving and ability to think outside the box
- Effective leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and decision-making skills

- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc.

- Regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms
- May lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Primarily works in a plant environment; some duties may be in an office setting
- Exposure to power sources and moving mechanical parts; possible exposure to a wide range of temperatures

Salary range: $103,869 - $127,523
