Division OverviewCrown’s Beverage Division manufactures a range of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, teas, and energy drinks. At the Olympia Plant, we currently produce 12‑oz. beverage cans.
Primary Functions Include- Observe, maintain, adjust, clean, remove cans and make minor repairs to automatic lacquer spraying machines and related equipment to maintain standard quality and quantity production on assigned equipment.
- Start/stop lacquer room equipment, including pumps, vibrators, exhaust fans, etc.
- Set up and adjust all spray room equipment when necessary.
- Detect and remove defective cans by visually examining production flow.
- Remove all jams from assigned equipment.
- Lubricate assigned equipment as required.
- Start up and shut down ovens.
- Place lacquer waste materials into proper containers.
- Maintain checklists, lubrication lists or other related records as required.
- Receive and offload tanker trucks.
- Perform maintenance duties while concurrently maintaining or operating equipment as assigned.
- Assume primary responsibility for safety in all assigned duties.
Starting wage $26.61 progressing every 1,000 hours up to 3,000 hours, ending at a maximum of $28.77 as a fully trained LSM.
BenefitsThis is a union position and includes a pension. New employees become eligible for benefits on the 1st of the month following one full month of employment and must enroll within 30 days of eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription, and 401k.
Job Requirements- Minimum 18 years old.
- High School diploma or G.E.D preferred.
- Minimum 6 months’ work experience in a manufacturing company is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills.
- Mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting desirable.
- Compliance with all OSHA and WISH safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, work on elevated stationary platforms, and withstand extreme climate changes.
- Strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities.
- Ability to work under time pressures and adapt to sudden schedule changes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good interpersonal skills.
- Availability for 12‑hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Union membership required after 30 days of hire.
