Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit/Float position requiring charge nurse experience and a WA or compact RN license.

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Must have experience working in the US;
  Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and general telemetry care
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team participation
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Short term acute care hospital setting on a PCU/Step-down float team supporting needs across the institution
• Patient population may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg cases
• Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• May include charge nurse responsibilities on select small units staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and coordination
• Floating required between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care across varying units based on institutional needs as part of a float team
• Serve as charge nurse on select small units, overseeing staffing, bed flow, and shift coordination when assigned
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
