JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Title:
Retail and Operations Associate - 12-24 hours per week, part-time
- $16.28 to $17/hour +tips; first review after 60-day trial period

DUTIES:
- Customer service; checkout, answering customer questions and giving direction, plant advice, workshop assistance, etc.
- Plant care; watering, repotting, pest treatment, etc.
- Shop upkeep; cleaning & sanitizing, inventory, labeling, merchandising, receiving & unpacking new stock, etc.
- * After 60-day trial period, duties may be rebalanced as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically able to stand/walk for periods of 4+ hours on hard surfaces, lift 40+lbs, use ladders and stairs, work in hot and humid conditions, frequently kneel/bend for items at floor level, and navigate tight/narrow/cluttered space
- Emotionally able to take direction, receive feedback and constructive criticism, communicate physical and emotional needs to teammates, perform duties during high volume social interaction and multitasking, and respectfully interact with a diverse customer base and shop team
- Punctual with good time management skills, reliability, & initiative
- Reliably able to schedule 12-24 hours a week
- English language fluency
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of application
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 + boosters & willing to wear a mask according to shop policy.
- * Extensive indoor plant knowledge/experience is not a requirement, but you will need to be willing and able to learn quickly, and to be honest with customers and teammates about your knowledge
* Job includes exposure to dust, pollen, fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, cleaning/sanitation agents, adhesives, chemical smells/fragrances, animal dander, and other potential irritants/allergens
