Role

Summary:


A Cabin Counsellor is the life and blood of Olympia Sports Camp. You will go above and beyond to make sure all campers and staff live in a Community of Every Day Heroes. Responsible for living and supervising a cabin of campers and developing activities for them throughout the day. Counsellors will also assist professional coaches during sports sessions. Counsellors may also specialize in another area of camp such as ropes, waterfront, office, tuck and programming, fitness, audio & visuals and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and plan programs for their cabin.
  • Exemplify and uphold Olympia’s core values of safety, teamwork, and respect at all times.
  • Contribute to a positive and energetic camp culture for both campers and staff.
  • Engage directly with campers, staff, and parents/guardians to ensure a high-quality experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working with youth.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic camp environment.
  • National Lifeguard (if working at the waterfront)

Desired

Skills:

  • Experience in a camp setting.
  • Experience with specific sports/activities that are offered at Olympia.
