An opportunity has arisen for a Bid Manager / Tender Manager / Electrical Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to join a specialist engineering and contracting organisation delivering electrical and infrastructure solutions across a range of commercial, industrial, utilities, and data centre projects.
As a Bid Manager / Tender Manager / Electrical Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead tender submissions, manage bid activity, support pricing strategies, and coordinate internal teams to deliver competitive and compliant proposals.
This role offers benefits, option to work 1 day remote per week and a salary of circa £70,000 (negotiable).
Candidates from Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Electrical Estimating, or Pre-Construction backgrounds with relevant bid experience will be considered.
You will be responsible for:- Managing the full bid lifecycle from tender review and planning through to submission, clarification, and handover.
- Collaborating with operational, commercial, procurement, technical, and business development teams to deliver quality tender responses.
- Reviewing cost plans, take-offs, supplier quotations, pricing, and commercial submissions.
- Developing bid strategies, methodologies, value propositions, and win themes.
- Supporting early client engagement to strengthen opportunities and improve conversion rates.
- Communicating bid assumptions, risks, and opportunities to delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting opportunity qualification and maintaining relationships with prospective clients.
- Previously worked as a Bid Manager, Tender Manager, Bid & Tender Manager, Pre-Construction Manager, Estimating Manager, Electrical Estimator, Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Bid Coordinator, Bid Specialist or in a similar role
- Have at least 5 years of experience in bid management, estimating, pre-construction, or commercial support roles within the MEP sector.
- Background in electrical contracting, utilities, infrastructure, data centres, or large-scale projects.
- Strong estimating skills, including cost assessment, quantity take-offs, supplier quotations, and pricing reviews.
- Degree, trade background, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience using Excel and tendering, estimating, and document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate input from various stakeholders.
