About Your New Employer
Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in County Tyrone, with a strong presence within its specialist market.
Due to continued growth, they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their expanding technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded Field Service Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, travelling to different sites and resolving complex engineering issues.
The successful Field Service Engineer will split their time between customer locations and the company's site, providing technical assistance, installation, servicing, fault-finding and repair support.
This is a varied Field Service Engineer position where no two days are likely to be the same. You will work with a range of equipment and customers while developing your technical knowledge within a highly experienced engineering environment.
About Your New Job
As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical support both on-site and remotely, ensuring customer equipment is operating effectively and efficiently.
The position will involve regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive field service visits.
- Attend customer sites to investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Complete installation and commissioning activities.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
- Provide customers with technical advice and operational guidance.
- Assist with equipment testing and technical assessments.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams on complex technical issues.
- Provide feedback on recurring faults and potential improvements.
- Complete accurate service reports and technical documentation.
- Support customer training where required.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Travel as required to meet customer and business requirements.
What You Will Need
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Plant Engineer or similar.
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- A practical and solutions-focused approach to engineering.
