Care Assistant

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Care Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will help create a comfortable and supportive environment, enabling our residents to be as independent as possible while ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.

About the role

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Person-Centred Care: Providing one-on-one and general personal care, including assisting with feeding, washing, bathing, dressing, and toileting.

  • Support & Enablement: Promoting social, self-help, and everyday living skills, assisting residents with limited mobility, and participating in recreational activities and outings.

  • Safety & Compliance: Appropriately supervising residents, reporting incidents immediately to the Nurse-in-Charge, and adhering to all Company, NISCC, and RQIA frameworks, policies, and procedures.

  • Hospitality: Assisting with serving food/drinks, laundry, maintaining clean and tidy bedrooms, and ensuring visitors feel welcome.

  • Administration: Completing all written records accurately and participating in mandatory training and staff meetings.

Required Criteria
  • Previous experience of caring for others, either in a professional capacity or as a lead carer for family members/relatives.
  • A genuine interest and passion for working with people with various care needs.
  • A confident communicator with a good command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • A dedicated team player.
  • Demonstrate kindness, empathy, and an acute understanding of the challenges facing new residents.
  • The ability to comply with NISCC registration requirements and satisfy the requirements of an Enhanced Access NI check.
Desired Criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a professional care environment.
  • Previous experience and/or training in care planning.
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, a related area, or an equivalent/higher recognised qualification.
