Who are we?
Across all of Northern Ireland, we offer direct support for people living with and affected by Motor Neurone Disease ('MND'), every day.
This is a very exciting time to join us, as we are looking for a Group Finance Officer to join our Committee and help us to plan and shape how we have an impact for and with our communities through our funds.
What does a Finance Officer do?
This is a key volunteer role within a local Group, who links closely with both MNDAssociation staff and volunteers alike as One Strong Team to drive impact through local leadership and supporting with financial planning and collaborative decision-making.
This role is recruited through Safer Recruitment processes, which means the process includes a short interview and two references.
Successful applicants will complete a structured induction pathway, involving e-learning modules.
Volunteers receive ongoing local support from their allocated Community Support Coordinator ('CSC') and relevant team members with a link to finance processes.

- General administration - handling cash and supporting the decision-making for spending with other volunteers
- Processing donations - acknowledge, process and recognise donations made directly to the Group with the support of our staff team
- Monitoring activity - maintain simple records for Group income and expenditure
- Reporting - prepare simple and transparent updates about Group income and expenditure for other volunteers and our MND Community
- Planning - support Committee members with the budgeting of Group funds and assets
-ensuring consultation with the Group members as appropriate - Awareness – act as an ambassador for the MND Association
- Policies – adhere to the MND Association’s policies and procedures, including GDPR and Safeguarding
- Events – as this role may involve attending meetings and events, expenses such as travel are covered per our policies.
