This theatre‑based role will have you collaborating closely with a team of surgical specialists, including Diploma holders and RCVS Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Surgery, as well as experienced surgical referral nurses. A certificate in anaesthesia or surgery is desirable, but a keen interest in obtaining one is equally valued.

You will encounter a diverse surgical caseload, from TPLOs and fracture repairs to thoracic surgeries and portosystemic shunts. A solid understanding of these procedures is essential, but rest assured, ample support and learning opportunities will be provided to help you excel.

• Work closely with specialist surgeons to manage the referral service, ensuring effective pre, intra and post‑operative care.
• Monitor anaesthetics and maintain sterility as a scrub nurse.
• Involved in diagnostic imaging, ordering specialist equipment and liaising with referral clients and practices.

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and excellent communication skills.
• Previous referral surgical experience and certification in Veterinary Surgical Nursing or Anaesthesia preferred but not essential.
