Job Description & How to Apply Below
You'll spend time getting to know the children and young people you support, and their families too, helping parents connect with the wider support available to them and making sure siblings aren't overlooked. This is hands-on, community-based work, and it makes a genuine difference to family life. A proper start:
Receive a full, paid induction before you're expected to hit the ground running and join a dedicated team who'll support you every step of the way. Whole-family impact:
Support isn't just about the child or young person. You'll help the whole family feel more connected and less alone. No formal qualifications required, just the right qualities:
If you're kind, patient, and reliable, we'll teach you the rest. If you're looking for work that means something, and you've got the patience and warmth this role needs, we'd love to hear from you. About
The Role Every activity you help someone take part in is a small step towards a bigger sense of belonging. As an Autism Outreach Worker, you'll liaise with families to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities that meet each child or young person's needs and aspirations, always keeping their safety and wellbeing at the centre of what you do. You'll support them to take part in community activities in line with their own person-centred plan, and you'll help build relationships that last well beyond your involvement.
You'll work closely with social work teams, updating on progress and contributing to reviews, and you'll keep accurate, up-to-date records as you go, from risk assessments to learning logs. Part of the role is about evaluating what's working and what isn't, and using that insight to keep improving the support families receive. You'll also play a part in supporting new staff and volunteers as they find their feet, sharing what you've learned along the way.
If you can bring warmth, reliability and genuine curiosity about the young people and families you're working with, this is a role where that really counts.
