Senior Accountant - Reconciliations & GL Accounting - Nebraska Business - Hemphill Exclusive

Hemphill is partnering with a very successful midsized business with headquarters in Omaha who is eager to identify an experienced accountant to join their team. We are searching for an individual that thrives while rolling up their sleeves and digging into the details while having a hand in all aspects of monthly financial accounting.

In this position you will work both independently and as part of a team while reporting to an Accounting Manager that leads with authenticity and is eager to work alongside you to make for a smooth and timely month end close process where the work is on time and done right.

• Work in tandem alongside the Accounting Manager while rolling up your sleeves and taking a hands on role in the monthly financial accounting processes to include balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, bank account reconciliations, and Balance sheet preparation and P&L analysis, and general month end duties that ensure the financial statements are correct.
• Leverage your years of experience to think critically about ways to streamline the month end process - the accounting manager believes their processes are strong, but could be taken from good to great - you will brain storm and offer suggestions while working with the accounting manager to think smarter vs. working harder
• Roughly 70% of your daily responsibilities will include financial accounting; however, you will enjoy spending a portion of your month on post close analysis, and will be given the opportunity to take part in the annual budgeting process and monthly budget-to-actual analysis.
