Senior Accountant

Senior Technical Accountant - MyStaff is partnering with a client to find an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in insurance statutory accounting to support complex financial reporting, regulatory filings, and audit activities. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical accounting environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with leadership, auditors, and regulatory partners. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in strengthening reporting processes, improving controls, and supporting overall financial accuracy within a growing organization.

• Review and support quarterly and annual statutory financial reporting
• Research and interpret Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) guidance
• Assist with statutory audits, regulatory filings, and state examinations
• Analyze and reconcile complex financial data, investments, and general ledger activity
• Identify reporting discrepancies and help improve accounting processes and controls
  
  Partner with finance leadership, auditors, and internal teams on technical accounting matters

• 5+ years of insurance accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
• Experience supporting statutory audits and regulatory reporting
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and complex workbooks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
