Family Teacher
Boys Town is hiring teams of Family Teachers in Omaha, Nebraska. Each team will consist of two individuals who will work together to provide care and guidance to boys and girls in need. Your role is to live on site, serve as a family‑style caretaker, and support the personal growth of at‑risk youth.

$10,000 per couple for Omaha, NE location
Benefits & Perks- Starting salary of $100,000 per couple, varying by location.

- Live on site in a Boys Town Family Home and provide direct care for 6‑8 at‑risk youth, creating a safe and loving family‑style environment.
- Offer emotional support through praise, positive feedback, affection, and empathy to build self‑confidence and respect.
- Use rational problem‑solving techniques to teach critical thinking, address behavioral problems, counsel through personal issues, and provide crisis intervention.
- Plan, participate in, and provide opportunities for individual and family activities that are both educational and entertaining.
- Teach parenting, family, and relationship skills to youth, legal guardians, and caretakers to foster family engagement.
- Maintain contact with internal and external consumers and agencies to obtain or provide information regarding youth behavior, strategies, and progress.
- Prepare written records for household budgeting, tracking youth progress, reporting incidents/behaviors, and documenting medical needs and appointments.
- Teach and role‑model Boys Town values and ethical behaviors, and support participation in regular religious activities.
- Supervise the activities of an assigned Assistant Family‑Teacher to aid in their development and success.
- Manage the daily operating schedule of the home, assist with youth transportation needs, and oversee overall household upkeep.
- Adhere to policies related to safety and boundaries with service recipients.
- Attend safety and abuse risk management training as assigned.
- Follow procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising service recipients.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- At least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college credit preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to pass an MVR check.
- Flexibility and willingness to work a wide range of hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and reference verification.
- Availability to attend a 2‑week paid training in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Valid marriage certificate required.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed by a supervisor.
- Serve as a role model in all activities and behaviors that reflect Boys Town’s values.
- Maintain sufficient mental and physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform all job requirements without compromising health and well‑being of self, employees, and youth.
- Ability to push/pull at least 80 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 30 pounds, and reach overhead, bend, and squat.
- Perform tasks such as moving furniture, climbing stairs, cooking, playing games, and maintaining outdoor grounds (mowing, shoveling). May be required to transport youth in various weather conditions.
- Experience with frequent interruptions, inappropriate behaviors, and potential verbal and physical threats from youth.
