Roloff Construction is looking for an experienced Estimator who can step in and own the bid process from day one. If you know underground utilities and concrete paving, can build a number you'd stake your reputation on, and want to do it at a 100% employee-owned company where your work directly builds your own stake, we want to talk to you.

What You'll DoBuild accurate, competitive estimates for underground utility (water, sanitary sewer, storm) and concrete paving projects, from quantity takeoffs through production rates, crew and equipment costs, and final pricing.

Lead hard bids for municipal, new development, and private work, ensuring full compliance with plans, specs, bid documents, and deadlines.

Read and interpret plans, specifications, addenda, and geotechnical reports to identify risk, scope gaps, and opportunities.

Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.

Price and process change orders in a timely, well-documented manner.

Monitor bid sites, track upcoming lettings, and maintain the master bid schedule.

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.

Hand off awarded work to project managers and field leaders with a clear picture of how it was bid, and use job cost feedback to keep estimates aligned with how the work actually gets built.

A proven track record preparing and submitting hard bids on public work; new construction experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software and strong Excel skills.

Solid understanding of production rates, equipment costs, and material pricing in the Midwest market.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment under bid-day pressure, and the ability to communicate clearly with PMs, field leaders, vendors, and subcontractors.

A degree in construction management, civil engineering, business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
