Overview

Local Morning Show News Anchor Reporter at KETV

KETV, the ABC affiliate in Omaha, NE, is looking for a Morning Show Anchor/Reporter who can bring energy to the anchor desk, report live, and enterprise exclusive stories. You will work under tight deadlines, write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, and mentor producers and reporters. You will report to the News Director.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
  • Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
  • Plan, gather, and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
  • Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop stories with exclusive angles and deeper details.
  • Develop a network of sources to provide tips and early access to information and break stories when appropriate.
  • Appear on behalf of the station at public events.
  • Contribute pictures, video, and text updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
  • Manage multiple stories and projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
  • Summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of anchor experience required
  • 2+ years of reporting experience required
  • Demo reel indicative of everyday work
  • Anchor who connects with viewers, in addition to strong reporting skills
  • Ability to operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, varied shifts (including overnights and weekends), and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record
  • Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production
  • Military-related experience will be considered
