Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing high‑level patient related customer service in a university/hospital‑based, high‑volume, pediatric/orthodontic dental clinic. The principal responsibilities include schedule coordination, patient intake and referral coordination, and other administrative duties that affect the day‑to‑day functions of the clinic. The role serves as the primary liaison between families, referring sources, and pediatric/orthodontic dental providers.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Perform patient intake procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate referral coordination with external providers.
  • Handle administrative tasks that support clinic operations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between families, referring sources, and providers.
Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent. (Three years related post‑high‑school education or experience considered.)
  • Required Experience: 3 years in a dental or medical office.
  • Required Skills & Abilities: Professional communication, typing proficiency, strong customer and interpersonal service skills, multitasking, self‑organization, team orientation, and effective communication with all age groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish (first or second language).
  • Experience in a medical or dental setting.
  • Certification as a dental assistant.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and dental software such as Eagle Soft and Dentrix.
  • Ability to work with uncooperative or unreceptive clients.
