Division Chief - Cardiology

Job Summary

Division Chief of Cardiology at CHI Health Heart & Vascular Institute, Creighton University School of Medicine, located in Omaha, Nebraska.

• Diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of cardiac conditions with comprehensive treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough medical examinations, obtain patient histories, and perform diagnostic tests (labs, imaging).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interprofessional teams, providing clear medical information.
• Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and discuss complex cases.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records and ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, and perform necessary procedures.
• Lead and mentor fellows, residents, and junior clinicians in an academic setting.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and provide consultative services to other providers.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, review clinical outcomes, and implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
• Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in medical practice.
• Maintain ongoing medical education, training, and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

• American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology (or related specialty).
• MD or equivalent degree, with a valid and unrestricted state medical license.
• Extensive clinical experience in cardiology, including performance of high‑volume procedures such as TAVR.
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, with a record of managing clinical programs and faculty.
• Academic credentials commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at a university medical center.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
